Wells Fargo said the problem that caused payment problems for some customers and direct deposits in their online and mobile banking accounts was corrected.

A day after the bank's major bankruptcy, customers posted Friday on social media information about the lack of money and overdrafts.

"Following yesterday's system recovery process, some transactions and balances were not visible in online banking or ATMs earlier in the day," said the company's spokeswoman. Hilary O'Byrne, in the United States in a statement to TODAY. "Transactions have been processed normally and customers can use their accounts with confidence."

O & # 39; Byrne added that "all transactions are now visible".

However, mobile and online banking are likely to continue to be delayed as customers check their balances, the bank said in a statement Friday.

According to the statement, the 5,500 Wells Fargo branches have extended their opening hours from one hour on Friday. Branches normally opened on Saturdays and stayed open for an extra hour.

Many agencies will extend their opening hours by one hour on Friday, February 8 (and Saturday, February 9, if they are normally open) to help our customers.

The bank said Friday that she continued to see a high volume of calls and that "Wells Fargo's fees resulting from these broadcasts will be canceled."

Wells Fargo's online banking and online applications experienced a number of technical challenges following a power outage following a power outage following smoke detection in a data center in Shoreview, Minnesota. The failure was "not due to a cybersecurity event," the bank said.

Towards the end of Thursday, Wells Fargo said in a statement that ATM services had been reinstated and that mobile and online banking were "operational", with the exception of some features, such as credit cards and mortgages.

Tim Sloan, CEO and chairman of the bank, said in a statement Friday that the recovery "was not as fast as we would have expected nor that of our customers".

"We will examine the system's problems in detail and do everything in our power to ensure that this type of disruption does not happen again," said Sloan.
